A Big Girl Bed

Around Christmas we bought Maeley a new bed. The other night we (Jace, Holly and Meah) put it together and Maeley was so excited. So excited, that after she was done "helping" daddy and putting her blankies on her new bed, she instantly got in and said "nigh, night". Jace, Meah and I were still talking... so Maeley sat up in her bed and said "Meah, out"..."Mommy, out"..."Daddy , out". We all started laughing and then she got up out of her bed shut the door on us! It was sooooo funny. We opened the door and took her downstairs for family prayer. Once it was over she said "nigh night" again and went upstairs by herself and shut the door again. Every night since she has been putting herself to bed. What a big girl. Can you believe that?

Miss Maeley's 2nd Birthday

Saturday night we celebrated Maeley's birthday with a few family members and friends. We had lots of pizza, lots of friends, lots of running, playing and screaming, lots of cake, lots of presents and most of all lots of fun.

Jace's Birthday

I've made a couple cakes before, but I wanted to make a really cool one for Jace. Jace loves to golf and goes about every weekend when the weather is nice. So instead of making a regular 9x12 rectangle cake I made him a golf cake. I had so much fun putting it together, but it took from 9am to 4pm to make it because I had never made such an involved cake.

I'm FINALLY responding to getting tagged

The RULES:

A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.

B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.

C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog....

OK, OK, OK, it has only taken me like 3 weeks to get back to my blog and return the tag. Not that I haven’t tried, but we’re been supa busy. So here they are everyone (a hum…Jamie)

My Six:

1. Most people know this but I have a foot fetish. I CANNOT WALK BAREFOOT IN PUBLIC PLACES!!! And when I say I cannot, I don’t mean I won’t, I mean I Cannot! It’s a mental problem and it freaks me out. This has been a weird, but very real problem for me since middle school. I think it had something to do with taking showers after P.E. and walking where I saw nasty bare feet and feeling the cold wet puddles on my skin. EEEEE Yuck!!!!. This is an obsession I don’t wish upon people. I have been made fun of countless times for this “problem”. While most people walk around barefoot at the water park, NOT me, people get into pools barefoot, but NOT me I always have my flip flops on. When Jace and I are in a hotel room, no matter how nice, I will NOT take my socks off until I get into bed and I will NOT get out of bed without new socks on my feet. I will NOT walk barefoot in your home, unless you are family and even then it’s a big maybe. Also Never Ever touch me with your feet.

2. I am also a little bit of a shopaholic. Some may say “pffffff a little bit!”, but I’m not as bad as some (Jamie Coburn who can’t walk out of a store without buying something J) But I do go shopping almost everyday. I love finding great deals (like the one I just found for Mark and Mike, a $300 item, I got it for $30) and as always I love to buy cute stuff for my home, or Maeley or me. However, when I find cute things for Jace he always asks me to return it because he would rather have the money. Kinda boring, but whateva.

3. Totally predictable, but I love my little family. I was always hesitant about becoming a mommy, but I love it and have so much fun with Maeley. She’s the biggest sweetheart and always makes me laugh. For example, this morning she came into my room, walked up to where I was sleeping and said “Ere you go mommy” and was holding up her blankie for me to sleep with. If you know Maeley you know she doesn’t give up her special blankies. I could go on and on about her, but I’ll save it for later. And of course I love Jace. Ahhhhh, I know, but I do. He is the ultimate best friend and from what I can tell the best husband. Sorry chicas, but it’s true. I couldn’t have found anyone better for me. He’s got everything including a lucky patch.

4. Also…I am SO going to be on Survivor one of these days. I went to open cast calls last year, however I didn’t know that I needed a passport to try out. So when I get one…watch out Probst. Even if Sarah thinks I show too much emotion, that’s why they’ll cast me, the short, feisty, Mormon girl who gets frustrated and totally annoyed with stupid people.

5. I really like to learn. I think I have a pretty busy life, but fifth fact about me, no matter how busy I am, I love trying and learning new things whether it’s crafts, scrapbooking, sewing, decorating, almost any activity or game (I’m a big gamer) or anything that gets my adrenaline running.

6. And 6th-I don’t think we’ll ever get rid of the purple people eater. Why do we still have this car that barely runs on 2 cylinders? How many years have we been saying we’re getting rid of this crappy car? Only, like, 5 now. I think this car will still be around for Maeley to drive when she turns 16. Poor girl.

There it’s done. Now I need to tag 6 people if the whole world hasn’t already done this…so I’ll say Jenny, Dave/Aubrie, Nicole, Miki, Krista and Steph-if she’s started one.
